When troubleshooting, Macrium Support can request that commands be run in an MS-DOS command prompt with elevated privileges.  Elevated mode runs a program using highest privileges and was introduced by Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC). 

Windows 10

  1. Press the Windows Key.
  2. Type cmd, Command Prompt appears as an option.
  3. Right-click Command Prompt.
  4. Select Run as administrator.


Windows 8

  1. If not at the Windows Start screen, press the Windows key.
  2. Type cmd, this appears in a search bar with Command Prompt below.
  3. Right-click Command Prompt.
  4. Select Run as administrator.

     


Windows Vista, Windows 7 and the Windows Server 2008

  1. Click Start. 
  2. Type command in the search box. 
  3. Right-click Command Prompt. 
  4. Click Run as administrator

     

  5. If required, input administrator password.
