When troubleshooting, Macrium Support can request that commands be run in an MS-DOS command prompt with elevated privileges. Elevated mode runs a program using highest privileges and was introduced by Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC).
Windows 10
- Press the Windows Key.
- Type
cmd
, Command Prompt appears as an option. - Right-click Command Prompt.
Select Run as administrator.
Windows 8
- If not at the Windows Start screen, press the Windows key.
- Type
cmd
, this appears in a search bar with Command Prompt below. - Right-click Command Prompt.
Select Run as administrator.
Windows Vista, Windows 7 and the Windows Server 2008
- Click Start.
- Type
command
in the search box. - Right-click Command Prompt.
Click Run as administrator.
- If required, input administrator password.
