Exploring the 'Features' page

Licenses for Macrium SiteDeploy® and backup & restore features can be added and managed on the 'Licenses' page of the Site Manager.  The 'Features' page will show which features are currently enabled. The two features that can be enabled and disabled are:

Deployment - This enables access to the 'Deployment' tab in Macrium Site Manager. This tab is used to deploy golden images to target endpoints.

Backup & Restore - This enables access to the 'Backups' and 'Restore' tabs in Macrium Site Manager. The Site Manager Agent can then be installed on target computers, enabling scheduled backups to be configured using the Site Manager console.

Starting a trial - Macrium SiteDeploy®

Both the deployment and the backup & restore features can be trialed for 30 days independently of the other. The 30-day trial can be started using the 'Activate' button shown next to the feature. Once a trial has been started, more information about the trial will be displayed. The SiteDeploy® trial includes 5 endpoints, meaning that 5 unique computers can be deployed to an unlimited number of times over the course of the deployment.

Once the trial has expired, another trial cannot be started, a full license key must be entered:

Starting a trial - backup & restore

Similar to 'Deployment' a trial can be started for the backup & restore features using the 'Activate' button. Once the trial has been activated the feature will show 'Trial License Active'. Once the license has been activated, a 30-day 5-seat Workstation MAL license and a 30-day 1-seat Server MAL license will have been added to the 'Licenses' tab. Select the 'Agent' section of the 'Licenses' page to view more information about the licenses:

SiteDeploy® Licensing

A license key can be added for Macrium SiteDeploy® using the 'Add' button next to the deployments features on the 'Features' page of the licenses tab. There are two types of licenses that can be added to SiteDeploy®:

Endpoint License - Endpoint licenses allow deployments up to the purchased number of unique endpoints. These endpoints can be deployed to an unlimited number of times, however, the number of unique endpoints cannot exceed the purchased amount. The 'Features' page will show the total number of endpoints that have been deployed to, and the number of unique endpoints that are allowed by the license:

System Builder License - The system builder license provides a number of total deployments that can be performed. Each time a deployment is performed, the total number of deployments will be reduced. The 'Features' page will show the total number of deployments that have been performed, and the number of total deployments that are allowed by the license:

Only one SiteDeploy license key may be added at a time. As a result, it is not possible to mix the two licenses discuss above. For more information on selecting which license type is correct for you, we recommend contacting our sales team at [email protected].
