Macrium Reflect can create file backups as well as disk images.Using Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) Reflect creates persistent images of your system.

Caution: You need to have installed Macrium Reflect on the machine you wish to backup.

  1. Select Create an Image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows.



    The wizard starts. All partitions are displayed, but only the system partitions are selected.  

     

    Further information about Windows 7 partitions can be found here.

  2. In the Destination section, select where to write the resultant image. In this example, 'E drive' is used. 

    For more on choosing a backup destination see Selecting Backup Destinations.
     

  3. Click Next.
     
  4. A summary screen displays detailing the settings used for this image. Click Finish.




    You are now given the opportunity to save the backup options.



  5. If you want to run the backup at this point, click OK.

    Your system partitions are backed up to the chosen location.



  6. When the image has completed, click OK to shut down the message box.

  7.  Click Close, to close the backup window.

    Your system is now backed up.
